About Us
R.A.R.O. International Artists in Residency program was established in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 2014, with the aim of creating spaces for reflection and production for artists, curators, and cultural managers. Since its inception, R.A.R.O. has built a solid network of local studios where residents can develop their projects. Each studio is guided by experienced artists from diverse disciplines. The program in Barcelona offers two different residencies: the Multi-Residency program, which allows participants to travel between various artistic production spaces throughout the city, and the Home-Based Program, which facilitates a complete residency experience within the Casa R.A.R.O. facilities.

Contemporary art and community
Discover the residency through the experiences of our artists

RARO gave me the time and space to really focus on my practice. Being surrounded by artists from different backgrounds made the experience incredibly enriching.

After completing two residencies with Casa R.A.R.O., I would recommend their program to any artist, but especially those drawn to unique mediums, materials, and subjects. Whether you have an idea you want to bring to life, or you're curious about expanding your artistic practice(s), you can find the support, community, resources, and so much more in the beautiful studio/gallery space that is Casa R.A.R.O.. I can't thank the Casa R.A.R.O. team enough for the experiences, insight, feedback, and community they provided! Not an opportunity to miss :)

The residency allowed me to experiment without the pressure of having to produce a finished work. It became a space for research, reflection and new connections.

Coming to RARO was an opportunity to step outside my usual context and look at my work from a different perspective. I left with new ideas, connections and renewed energy.
We are grateful to the people and institutions that support this cultural and artistic project.
